AGE VERIFICATION & INTERNET SAFETY
CHAIRED BY LORD ERROLL

Protect your business from underage custom, and kids from inappropriate content

Tuesday 14 November 2017

14.30-16.30 ~ Westminster

For an invitation: [email protected]alliance.org.uk

The report from the meeting held on 19 September is available for members and observers at: https://www.dpalliance.org.uk/about-av-group/av-group-reports-publications/.

The next meeting of the DPA Age Verification and Internet Safety Group will be on Tuesday 14th November, from 1430-1630 in Westminster.

At the Council meeting on 16th October, it was decided that the Group should work on providing a response to the current Home Office Consultation (ends on 9th December) on offensive and dangerous weapons – knives, acid etc. – building on the experience gained in the DPA’s response to the Digital Economy Bill, including the demonstration of digital AV solutions that could be applied to a range of age-restricted products and services.

In addition there is a DCMS Internet Safety Consultation requiring a response by 7th December. The meeting will discuss how best to respond to both consultations, and a copy of each, together with their impact assessments, is attached to this email for information and to assist members in developing their contributions for inclusion in official DPA responses that reflect Group consensus. Proposed responses will be circulated to the full working group for comment, after which it may be necessary to have a further meeting before 7th December to finalise the documents.

Please email [email protected] to register your attendance.  Places are limited and we may need to restrict attendance on this occasion and so we ask you to register as soon as possible, please.

This meeting is for DPA members and registered observers only.  If you are interested in becoming a member we would welcome your attendance as a taster, but before any further participation, you would then need to join us.  More details are available at: http://dpalliance.org.uk/join-us/.
