The next meeting of the Smart Society Group will take place on Monday 19th March, 1230 to 1400 hours in Westminster.
The meeting will define the course of the working group and there will be the opportunity to share your opinions. Suggestions for discussion include innovation in procurement in relation to Public Service Delivery, as well as the below topics in the Transport Committee’s call for written evidence in relation to the Mobility as a Service inquiry’s terms of reference, available at: www.parliament.uk/business/committees/committees-a-z/commons-select/transport-committee/inquiries/parliament-2017/mobility-as-a-service-17-19.
*Overcoming the barriers to implementation of integrated, multi-mode MaaS apps in UK cities, including…transport providers’ unwillingness to share data, customers and revenue (including car hire companies; innovators in autonomous vehicles; rail, metro, and bus operators; cycle hire schemes; car clubs; and others);
*Overcoming concerns about digital exclusion, ensuring mobility remains accessible to all.
The Group’s previous submission to this inquiry is available at: http://data.parliament.uk/writtenevidence/committeeevidence.svc/evidencedocument/transport-committee/mobility-as-a-service/written/76181.html.
The DPA’s Smart Society Working Group aims to look at the issues arising from the huge increases in scale, ubiquity, processing capability and interconnectivity forecast for smart devices and the “Internet of Things” (including machine-to-machine interfacing).
Please email [email protected] to register your attendance. Room capacity is limited, and a ‘first come, first served’ policy will therefore be adopted.
This meeting is for DPA members and registered observers only. If you are interested in becoming a member we would welcome your attendance as a taster, but before any further participation, you would then need to join us. More details are available at: http://dpalliance.org.uk/join-us/.
